Guidance intelligence

Track every promise. Grade every outcome.

Altys turns scattered forward-looking statements from concalls, presentations and filings into a dated management-guidance history. Analysts can see the original wording, the numerical band, later revisions and what the company eventually delivered.

The operating problem

More information does not create continuous attention.

Management guidance is valuable because it is forward-looking and falsifiable. It is difficult to use because it is scattered across documents and often changes through wording before the headline number moves.

01

The original quote gets lost

An analyst remembers the summary but not the exact phrase, qualification, time horizon or source that defined the commitment.

02

Revisions are hard to compare

A band may be narrowed, widened, deferred or replaced with softer language across several calls without a clean change log.

03

Delivery is rarely graded

Teams collect guidance but do not systematically connect each promise with the later result, so management credibility remains anecdotal.

The Altys workflow

Research, decision and monitoring on one evidence trail.

The tracker preserves the statement as evidence, then turns it into a monitoring object.

01

Capture the statement

Store the exact guidance, speaker, reporting date, source passage, metric, period and any explicit qualification.

02

Normalise the commitment

Separate numerical bands, directional statements, timing claims and strategic milestones without pretending they are equally precise.

03

Track wording changes

Compare subsequent calls for upgrades, cuts, withdrawals, delays and shifts from numerical to qualitative language.

04

Reconcile actuals

Attach the reported outcome once the target period arrives and state whether the result was inside, above, below or not comparable with the original commitment.

05

Learn the pattern

Review which teams guide conservatively, which repeatedly revise and where the analyst’s own interpretation was too optimistic.

What the system adds

Infrastructure around the analyst, not a black box above them.

Management credibility should be a track record, not a feeling. A dated guidance ledger makes the evidence inspectable.
Exact source passageMove from a summary back to the filing, presentation or transcript behind the statement.
Dated change historySee what was said at each point without allowing a later revision to overwrite the earlier promise.
Outcome matchingConnect future commitments with actual reported KPIs and financial results.
Coverage-wide searchAsk the same guidance question across sectors or an entire monitored universe.
Questions, answered

What teams usually ask before a pilot.

What counts as management guidance?

Management guidance includes explicit numerical targets, ranges, directional outlook, timing commitments and operational milestones stated in concalls, presentations, filings or other official disclosures.

Why preserve the exact wording?

Qualifications such as “subject to,” “broadly,” or “exit run-rate” materially change what management promised. The original wording prevents a later summary from making the commitment look stronger or weaker.

How do you score guidance accuracy?

The cleanest approach is to define the metric, period and band at the time of the statement, then compare the later reported outcome on the same basis. Not every qualitative statement can be reduced to a numerical score.

Can Altys search guidance across many companies?

Yes. Altys is designed to structure and search guidance history across an Indian company universe, while retaining the source and date for each statement.
